Childbirth is a miraculous and unique experience. Choosing a medicated or unmedicated birth experience is a very personal family decision. Every woman and family deserves the support they want and need at this challenging time.
Doulas are re-creating the woman to woman network of the past and providing women and their families with nurturing and gentle support. Having another woman present while in labor and giving birth provides reassurance and encouragement. This reassurance eases fears and anxieties, which helps her to instill confidence and trust in her own body.

The support of a doula increases the intimacy of the experience for the mother and her partner by managing the fears of both parents.
