Best bottle for breastfeeding babies?
Some like the Breast Flow bottle by First Years. It works with compression, which is supposed to mimic the action at the breast, so baby has to "work" for the flow as opposed to it pouring into their mouth. Has a wide base too.
It's the easy flow of the bottle that babies generally start to get used to, not necessarily the nipple itself. So, if feeding from a bottle, parents can do "paced bottle feeding", which more mimics feeding at the breast and prevents overfeeding. A google search will point to something... most provide a slightly different variation on the same idea: holding baby upright so milk isn't pouring into baby's mouth, and then sitting baby up or taking the nipple out after several sucks and then continuing again.

Nursing Bras
Asprin and Breastfeeding
Thrush
-oral monilia transferred to mother's skin
1. No plastic pads-monilia loves dark, wet, warm places with a specific PH 9 acid or base balance) condition!
2. Use baby's oral medicine on nipples-sticky
3. Baking soda and Gentian Violet were old treatments
4. Antifungal cream doctor suggests
a. Remove with mineral oil before feed
b. Reapply sparingly after feed to dry nipple
c. Some suggest baking soda and water wipe
5. Blow dry nipples or air dry
6. Aerated breast shells
7. Boil pump parts, pacifiers, bottle nipples
8. Hang bras and disposable bra pads out in the sun to dry
9. Very difficult for monilia to enter breast ducts(HIV, Lupus, etc)
Three Lac from Global Health Trax works wonders for yeast. The mom can take it to help her. It has to be ordered on line from Global Health Trax. Can't be bought in stores but she can do a rush delivery. It’s real important she follow the directions though because this causes a lot of dying off of the yeast and if done too quickly and the system is overwhelmed with the die off it can cause depression. It really works well though! As far as the baby you can call and speak to Global and see if there's anything to help prevent it for the baby.

Weaning
Start weaning with the feeding that is most intruding on her energy. Use distractions or food to replace the feeding. So instead of sitting in the breastfeeding favoorite chair or lying in bed, offer milk in a cup, or other liquid the child prefers. Once that feeding has been eliminated, then she can proceed to eliminate the other feeding. This may be an easier way for baby to deal with. She may want to give her self time with the weaning. Allow for weeks. In some cases kids are ready and are done in a few day. In other cases it takes a long time to say goodbye to such a wonderful and loving
experience.
Make sure to give her child extra hugs and cuddles during that time of weaning, cause she does not want to associate weaning with rejection.
Know that if you feel sadness after you have weaned, that is completely normal. We are not aware of how big of an impact the breastfeeding experience has on us, till it is no longer apart of our relationship with our child.
